Globe Newswire is one of the world’s largest press release news distribution services based in California. The company specializes in delivering to media organizations, investors, the investment community, and the general public corporate press releases containing financial disclosure information and multimedia content. The content features product and event announcements, mergers and acquisitions, executive changes, web-friendly financial tables, and press releases for public and private companies. GlobeNewswire partners with media organizations such as Yahoo!, the Associated Press, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Baltic News Service, and Market Watch, among others.
GlobeNewswire launched as Prime Newswire in 1998 and was a collaboration between NASDAQ and OMX, who owned the company between 2006 and 2018. The company would change its name to GlobeNewswire in 2009 when NASDAQ and OMX merged. The name change was in response to the company wanting the company’s name to reflect its global scope.
The company has introduced some interesting innovations since its inception. In 2012, the company introduces its Streaming Media Player platform which allowed users to alternate between videos and slides when watching more than one news source. Then, in 2018, it introduced Media Snippets, which allowed users to integrate a carousel of images, video, audio, and live-streamed content into their press releases. This same year, West Corporation purchased the news distribution service.
GlobeNewswire has expanded to become one of the largest press release news distributions services since its inception more than 22 years ago. Based in California, GlobeNewswire provides businesses with a distribution service that allows them to perform a number of activities in getting the word out regarding their event, news, or product launch. Get your business on GlobeNewswire by sending a press release. PR Distribution is partnered with GlobeNewswire and/or with their content syndication partner(s).
